How to Get the Best iPhone Dynamic Wallpaper [iPhone X, 7, & 6]

The iPhone is an ever evolving, top of the line device, but it has so many cool features that you’re probably not taking advantage of them all. One of these awesome features is live and dynamic wallpaper! In this guide I’ll show you how to use this feature and choose the best iPhone dynamic wallpaper.

If you have the iPhone 6S or newer versions you can create moving wallpaper through your settings or you can get additional options by downloading different apps. I’m going to walk you through how to create live wallpaper, wallpaper that moves when you press down on it, and dynamic wallpaper, which constantly moves!

Method 1: Built-in Dynamic Wallpapers

Price: Free!

This method simply shows you how to use the dynamic wallpapers that come built into the iOS!

Step 1:

Go to settings, then scroll to and select Wallpaper.

 

Step 2:

Select Choose a New Wallpaper.

Step 3:

Select Dynamic to choose from the included dynamic wallpapers, then select any image to see how it works.

Step 4:

Once you’ve selected the background, select Set.

Step 5:

You can make this image both your home screen and lock screen, or just one or the other.

Step 6:

You can’t really tell here, but when you exit from Settings, you will see the wallpaper move continuously.

Method 2: Live Photos

Price: Free!

You can also use your own live photos as live wallpaper.

Step 1:

Go to Settings, scroll to Wallpaper and select it.

Step 2:

After clicking Wallpaper, select Choose a New Wallpaper.

Step 3:

This time go to your Live Photos album.

Step 4:

Once you’ve selected the background, click set. You will have to press down on the image in order to see it move.

Method 3: Live Wallpapers Now App

Price: Free for basic use or $7.99 billed weekly for Premium

If you want a bit more variety and don’t mind spending some money, the Live Wallpapers Now app is the way to go!

Step 1:

Go the App Store and search for “Live Wallpapers Now.” It will look like the image below.

Step 2:

After loading the app, read the bullet points, then select “Ok, I understand.”

Step 3:

This screen walks you through how to save and retrieve the live image through setting following the same steps I highlighted previously. You can skip through by choosing Next.

Step 4:

You have the option of proceeding to premium or you can X out in order to use the free live images.

Step 5:

Please read this consent notice as it applies to the privacy of your phone. Be sure to click “read more” if you do not understand what you are agreeing to.

Step 6:

Now you will see a live image of a moving bee on a sunflower. I’ll use this image as an example, but you can use whichever image you want. Just select it and hit Save. 

If a privacy alert pops up, hit Allow.

 Step  7:

Go to back to Settings, scroll to Wallpaper and select it.

Step 8:

After clicking Wallpaper, select Choose a New Wallpaper.

Step 9:

Go to your Live Photos album.

Step 10:

Select the background you chose and tap Set. Press down on the image in order to see it move.
