While it may sound confusing at first, transferring files from one Apple product to another is actually simple! You can transfer practically anything, may it be photos, files, videos, and even contacts. Backing up files to iCloud has always been the most common recommendation in these situations.

If you want to go beyond the free iCloud which is only 5GB, you will have to pay a monthly subscription. People are now looking for alternative, free ways to import contacts from iPhone to Mac.

How To Import Contacts From iPhone To Mac

1. Backup files

Backing up your files into iCloud means you can access them on any Apple products you use. Even when you’ve transferred devices from one iPhone to another, those files are still within your reach. As long as you log into your iCloud ID then you are good to go.

In case you haven’t backed up your files just yet, below are two methods you can follow!

Step 1: Go To ‘Settings’
Step 2: Tap ‘iCloud Account’

After enabling this, you can also manage your iCloud storage. If you do not want to fully maximize the 5GB, you can individually select the files that you want to backup.

Backup Through iTunes

iTunes is a media player and library developed by Apple. But it’s also so much more than that. It can also be used to backup your files safely.

Step 1: iTunes Should Be Updated

Make sure that iTunes has been updated to the latest version.

Step 2: Launch iTunes and Connect Your iPhone

When a message pops-up after connecting your iPhone to iTunes, select ‘Trust this Computer’. This has to be done in order for iTunes to access your iPhone.

Step 4: On iTunes, Select Your iPhone
Step 5: Click on ‘iPhone Summary’

Step 6: Back Up Now

In the ‘Manually Back Up and Restore’ section, select ‘Back Up Now’. All of your files will be backed up on your iCloud account.

2. Airdrop

Put Airdrop to good use by using it to import files. Airdrop is such a useful feature that I highly recommend you learn to utilize!

The steps for importing contacts from iPhone to Mac is pretty simple.

Step 1: Go to ‘Contacts’
Step 2: Select From Your Contact List

In this case, it would be your Mac. Choose it to import contacts from iPhone to Mac.
